blast from the PAST!!!!

man that HK trip after JC was really trippy. it was awesome. Pak you better bring us again.

ran into an old friend in Hong Kong...he asked me for some acting advice. I told him, "Jacko, don't worry man - just be yourself." I forgot to tell him not to choose shitty scripts like the tuxedo and the medallion that not even steven spielberg can salvage.

We looked like we were having so much fun in those days. Man. Those were the days my friend...we thought they'd never end...we'd sing and dance and lah lah lah lah lah.

PAK! you closed your eyeS! and for those who never believed i had dyed hair - i did for about a month and here's the proof!

When a book lives up to it's hype, it's extremely satisfying. David Mitchell is my new golden boy - and his Cloud Atlas is taking me for a magic carpet ride through the centuries and lives or disparate and human characters, following tenuous threads.

one complaint - i think he's culled a lot of stories from popular fiction. already I'm recognising Hornblower, smidgens of Oscar Wilde, One flew over the cuckoo's nest, Erin Brockovich and heaven help me, the overused Gattacca. While it's excellent, highly readable and gripping, i think it needs to be more original. Very nice so far though. David Mitchell has a knack for coming up with very quotable quotes.

The heart has been moved, Dr Cavendish.

"Where?", the good doctor asked, his lips turning the colour of frozen turnips.

Vansterdam, where the cat lives.

"Hongcouver." He echoed, hollowly now. It's gone, then. "Will it be coming back soon?"

I thought of the red-carpet return, down pews of diamonds: a running embrace and wet cheeks. It depends on you, Dr Cavendish.

The semis are over.

we lost to warrane - why does this all sound so familiar? warrane is an all-boys college. They're full of pent up testosterone and raging male hormones, so i guess they're pretty good. we played alright though...lost by two tries. cheap, soft tries that we gave away with a knock-on and advantage played, and then later a quick ruck and a switch of play at the try-line. and to reflect 2003's finals, we were knocking and knocking on their door... crossed the try-line once but the try was discounted - ball held up...some other good chances but the lack of support - i tried - but ah well.

i think i played well though. not too bad. didn't miss any tackles, made a clearing kick...picked up the ball in the back field thrice. good anticipation of the little up-and-under...as the aussies say - i'd rate myself.

ah well. it was good fun though. won't be much of a game for third and fourth now, probably with Basser. I think.

after the match, i was showering. I saw mud on my calves, so i was trying desperately to wash it off. but no matter how much i scrubbed, the mud refused to come off. it just swirled around lazily on my skin.

i peered closer. it was my leg hair that i had been trying to wash off. I resolved then that this incident would be put on my blog.

AND just to rub in the fact that it IS just party party party here...

yet another party/concert.

good looking ppl!

and more:

who says i don't study???

family and friends!!! = good food good company good time

and school work! it's just beginning. scary. some people have reported that i seem to be just partying and partying. i'll disprove them soon.

and i'm not going to say a word about the champions league finals. suffice to say i'm in a bad mood for the rest of the week.

and rugby! we're into the semis!!!! wheee!!! well it's not a big achievement cuz there're only five teams and all we won was one game and one team didn't win a single match so i guess we're the bomb. we just laid it into them despite our team lacking three of our best players. so it's all good. played ANOTHER full match. yeah. the aussies are really fast and they run really hard. so it's good practice. if any of the good players came to singapore...they'd definitely be in the national team.

And what else? there's musical! the college musical, pirates of penzance is absolutely smashing. a very good production - very slick, very well rehearsed and a lovely orchestra. and the sets are stunning. this guy built a whole swivelling backdrop and curtains that actually opened and closed!!! very cool. I brought a visiting cousin to watch it! hi sharon rose! it was really great to see her too. and we ate at a chinese place and i had my first porridge in like 3 months. woohoo!

it's been a long time since i've posted everything, so i'll have a mega post to make up for it!!!

well, things that have been happening;

my parents and grandparents and little sister came up to sydney to see me: it was really great!!! ate good food and good food and more good food for the whole wkend and put on three kg. no seriously. 3kg. all my hard work! undone! in a flash! of gluttony and greed! but it's all good. cuz it's free food. but most importantly, it was really really really nice to spend time with my family again. it was really good. skipped a couple of lessons and lectures but who cares! and my grandmas...they're still all healthy and spritely, so i really thank God for that! all my prayers since childhood are paying off! hahah...and they brought me awesome presents like hoodies and beanies and track pants and textbooks, and best of all they brought me a happy kit! which made me very happy indeed.

and we went to a little arts flea market where i had chili. and thinking, man, i'm singaporean. i like chili padi and i've eaten raja muja from nagaland, the hottest chili in the world so this aussie chili musn't be much. it wasn't that bad but it gave me hiccups. so that wasn't too cool.

so when my mum and my grannies left, it felt like they were leaving again for the first time. man... it was such a good visit. i miss them already! ah well. heading back soon! wheee! racking up more frequent flyer miles! and how ironic. Time to say good bye by andrea bocelli and sarah brightman starts playing on my com and it's time to say good bye to this topic.

The theme of the party was Pride and Prejudice!

Kenneth, Eikfeng and Cherie are in Sydney. They are excellent salsa dancers and they are very wealthy! This is view from their service apartment... serviced apartment???? someone clarify.

then after visiting their place, we went to an awesome salsa bar called equilibrium. all my salsa inadequacies were exposed. The girls would dance with me for a while then smile and say, "I've got to go..."

wow.

time really flies. the hols are over and school's about to start. got a new, revised, ultra crappy timetable. i don't see how it's possible that i have like a twenty hour plus week and NO free days while people in the same course at me have like a free day and a great timetable they're raving about. it's just wierd as.

:(

-envious tim

anyhow. it's been all good! had a couple of birthdays, and a couple of friends coming over, so more pics soon!
